Practice Charter
We are committed to giving you the best service we can. This is only possible if we work together. Please help us to help you.
Our ethos is "We believe in working in our patients' best interests striving for excellence"
What We Will Do For You
- Treat you with courtesy, dignity and respect at all times
- We do not discriminate on the grounds of race, gender, social class, age, religion, sexual orientation, appearance, disability or medical condition.
- Treat you as a partner and discuss with you the care and treatment we can provide.
- Provide an appropriate chaperone if required (any patient, male or female, can request a chaperone when an examination is required - this is usually the case when an intimate personal examination is undertaken. A GP/nurse is also at liberty to ask for a chaperone to be present if they feel the situation warrants it. This is to provide a mutually safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practice is being followed at all times).
- Give you full information on the services we offer.
- Give you the most appropriate care by suitably qualified staff.
- Provide you with emergency care when you need it.
- Refer you to a consultant acceptable to you when your doctor thinks it is necessary or refer you for a second opinion when you and your doctor agree it is needed.
- Give you access to your medical records (written record after 1st November 1991). This is at the discretion of the doctor. Some information may be withheld from you if it is felt that it might be harmful to the patient. Under the terms of the Data Protection Act, the practice is at liberty to charge a reasonable fee for such disclosure.
- Keep the contents of your health records confidential in accordance with the law. All patients, regardless of age, have the right to confidentiality. This right exists even after the patient has died.
- Deal with complaints promptly and objectively. Our aim would be to produce a positive outcome for all concerned.
What We Expect From You
